Corporate sustainability has become a new trend in recent years. Consumers, overseas, and local buyers all value "Environmental, Social, and Governance" (ESG). The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong launched the ESG Pledge in 2022, aiming to enhance the Hong Kong business community's awareness and practice of sustainable development and encourage the industry to improve ESG performance through signing the pledge and setting action commitments. Enterprises participating in the pledge can acquire advanced sustainability concepts and receive support from the association. 

The ESG Pledge is supported by the Hong Kong Brand Development Council as a co-organiser, the  CMA Industrial Development Foundation Limited as the event sponsor, CMA Testing and the Hong Kong Productivity Council as strategic partners. It is also supported by CLP Power Hong Kong Limited, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation, The Hongkong Electric Company Limited, Hong Kong Green Finance Association, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Hong Kong Happiness Index Foundation, Towngas, Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited, and UNESCO Hong Kong Association.

Participating in the ESG Pledge achieves corporate sustainability. The annual fee is $1,000 (for members and customers of subsidaries of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong and CMA Testing clients) or $1,200 (for other companies). 
Participants can gain support from Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong and CMA Testing such as ESG Connect series, training courses, testing, and special certificates to enhance ESG performance. 

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong now offers a special discount for chain store groups participating in the ESG Pledge to encourage and assist the industry in actively investing in ESG:

1. Companies and branches participating in the ESG Pledge with 10 or more stores can enjoy a 20% annual fee discount. The applying company or its brand company will be eligible for the "ESG Advocator Awards" at the annual ceremony (100 stores for gold diamond, 50 for silver diamond, 30 for gold, and 10 for silver awards).
2. Participating companies and branches will receive an ESG Pledge certificate, electronic logo, and stickers to display in company, branch, website, business card, social media, and information, promoting corporate image and enhancing competitiveness.
3. Companies and branches participating with 30 or more stores will receive an additional ESG logo sticker.
4. Simple application - Each brand company only needs to fill out one application form and one branch participation report.
5. Opportunity to serve as a speaker at the association's ESG Pledge events, introducing the company's ESG projects, services, and products.
6. Advocator can introduce their ESG projects, services, and products through the association (subject to relevant conditions).
